Welsh Ponies Section B

All Tyrcanol Section Bs trace back to the legendary Solway Master Bronze. In the 1970s we sent mares to him in the South of England, and the foals included the palomino stallion Tyrcanol Master Stephen, and Tyrcanol Suzie-Bronze, whose daughter Tyrcanol Josephine (by Colbeach Bonaparte, a son of Downland Romance) proved to be one of our most successful broodmares. Master Stephen is the sire or grand-sire of most of our best Broodmares, including Josephine’s daughters Tyrcanol Eurydice and Tyrcanol RhineMaiden, Tyrcanol Semiramis (dam Tyrcanol Suzie-Bronze) and the champion Tyrcanol Bellamira. Bellamira represented a different direction, since her dam Abercrychan Belinda was bred from Downland bloodlines.

Several of our best young fillies are daughters of  the chestnut stallion Tyrcanol Orlando,  a son of the supreme champion and many-times winner of the Sire ratings Eyarth Rio and Tyrcanol RhineMaiden, one of our very best broodmares.

Many Tyrcanol section Bs have enjoyed great success under saddle, due to their superb free movement, balanced conformation and sweet temperaments. One of the most successful was Tyrcanol Adam Section B gelding (Tyrcanol Shcharansky / Elphicks Adeline). A champion at the highest level in Britain in dressage, as a Show Hunter Pony and as a section B under saddle, Adam also has one of the kindest temperaments ever.

Tyrcanol Elijah (sire Cottrell Royal Consort, dam Tyrcanol Eurydice) at the Royal Show 2004. Elijah’s show results included 2nd at the Royal Show, and 3rd at the Three Counties Show. Elijah has an exceptionally sweet temperament and we are hoping he will be shown under saddle in the future.

Tyrcanol Uluru (Sire Eyarth Rio, dam Tyrcanol Rhine Maiden) 2 year old filly, photo taken in 2002. Uluru is proving to be an outstanding brood mare.
